We want everyone to be able to shop and read on hushhealth.ca, including people who use assistive technology. This page explains what we do, what we know still needs work, and how to get help.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referred to by Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). [Confirm which AODA requirements apply to Hush Health Canada Ltd.]

What we’ve done

  • A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
  • Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Headings in order on every page, so screen reader users can jump between sections.
  • Text alternatives for images that carry information; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Labels on every form field, and error messages that say what to fix.
  • Screen reader announcements when something changes, such as adding a product to your cart.
  • Text and background colours chosen for readable contrast.
  • Pages that work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens.
  • Animations that are reduced or switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

We test the site regularly, but some parts may still fall short:

  • Some customer before and after photos were supplied as images; we describe them in text, but fine detail may not come through.
  • Payment is handled on our payment provider’s secure form, which we don’t control [confirm].
  • Links to other websites, such as Amazon.ca or published research, may not meet the same standard.
