Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Hush Health Canada Ltd. (“HUSSSH Canada”, “we”) collects through hushhealth.ca, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who we are

This website is operated by Hush Health Canada Ltd., P.O. Box 22013, Barrie, ON L4N 0Z5. Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information and can be reached at info@hushhealth.ca.

What we collect

We only collect what we need:

• When you order: your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, phone number, what you bought and your order history. Payment card details are entered with our payment provider, WooPayments, which is powered by Stripe, and are never stored by us. If you pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay, Apple or Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy. If you choose to save a card for next time, our payment provider stores it, not us. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
• When you create an account: your email address, name and password (stored in hashed form, so we can’t read it), plus your saved addresses.
• When you contact us: your name, email address, order number if you give one, and your message. Messages sent through our contact form are saved on our website for one year so we can follow up.
• When you send us photos or a review: the photos and text you send, and your permission for how we may use them.
• When you browse: technical information such as your IP address, browser and pages visited, which our web host keeps in standard server logs. Our analytics tool also collects information about your visit, as described under Cookies and tracking below.

How we use it

• To process, ship and support your orders, including sending order confirmations and delivery updates.
• To answer your questions and handle returns, refunds and damaged orders.
• To run your account, if you have one.
• To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and spam.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We currently send order confirmations, delivery updates and a request to review your purchase. Each review request includes a way to unsubscribe. We don’t send newsletters or promotional emails. If that changes, we’ll ask for your consent first, and every such email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the shop, and only what they need:

• our payment provider, WooPayments (powered by Stripe), to take payment and detect fraud;
• our fulfillment partner and shipping carriers, to pack and deliver your order;
• our website host and email delivery service, to run the site and send emails;
• Google (Google Analytics), which receives information about how you use the site, as described under Cookies and tracking below.

These providers must protect your information and use it only for the service they provide to us. Some of them may store or process information outside Quebec and outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies the site needs. Our site uses cookies to keep the items in your cart, keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Our payment provider also sets cookies and uses details such as your IP address and device to detect fraud at checkout.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your approximate location.

Google Analytics is active when you visit the site. You can limit it in several ways:

• block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although the cart and checkout won’t work without the essential ones;
• opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.

The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers when you visit, which shares your IP address with Google.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for seven years, which covers what tax and accounting law requires. Account information is kept until you ask us to close your account. Contact form messages are kept for one year and then deleted. Google keeps the analytics data it collects under its own retention settings.

How we protect it

Our site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to your information is limited to people who need it, and passwords are stored in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach puts you at real risk of significant harm, as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use (which may mean we can’t provide some services). You can also ask us to delete your account. To stop review request emails, use the unsubscribe link in any of them. To limit analytics, see Cookies and tracking above. Email info@hushhealth.ca and we’ll reply within 30 days.

If you live in Quebec, you can also ask to receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used format, or to have it sent to another organization.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Our products and website are not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes apply from the date they’re posted on this page, shown at the top.
